I’m a Japanese person living in the Kanto region, with two kids.
This blog started from an experience of being cut in line at a souvenir shop in a tourist area. I wrote about it in my first post. What I felt in that moment wasn’t so much anger — it was more of a realization: “People’s ideas of common sense can be completely different.”
Through work, I’ve had opportunities to interact with people from other countries through business trips and offshore development. I like to think I know a little about the world outside Japan — but honestly, there’s a lot more I don’t know.
So whenever something in my daily life makes me stop and think, “Wait, is this just a Japan thing?” — I write about it here.
Everything on this blog is my personal opinion and doesn’t represent all Japanese people. But if it’s useful to anyone traveling to Japan or working with Japanese people, I’d be happy.

このブログを始めたのは、観光地のお土産屋さんで列に割り込まれた経験がきっかけ。その話は最初の記事に書きました。あのとき感じたのは怒りよりも、「常識って人によって全然違うんだな」という気づきでした。
仕事では海外出張やオフショア開発で外国の方と関わる機会があって、日本の外のことも少しは知っているつもりだけど、知らないことの方が多いです。
なので、日常のふとした瞬間に「あれ、これって日本だけかな？」と引っかかることがあればそれについて、ブログを書いていくつもりです。
内容はあくまで個人の感想で、すべての日本人の意見を代表するわけじゃありません。けれども、旅行や仕事で日本と関わる人の役に立てたらうれしいです。
